Discover God's Plan for Your Life!

DAY 4 OF 7

You can overcome

Yesterday, we talked about the tremendous confidence that the Apostle Paul seemed to demonstrate when he said, “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13, NIV).

Did you notice Paul’s confidence to accomplish anything came from three secret places? Let’s unwrap this verse to discover his secrets and apply them in our own lives.

  1. He had confidence because he had a history of victory. Notice verse 12 mentions setbacks but also abundance. I’ve discovered that trials are tough but success can be intoxicating. John the Apostle also mentions the three temptations that can crush any good man or woman: “For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world” (1 John 2:16, NIV). Wow! Battles will either help make you or break you. Remember that David killed Goliath only after he had killed the lion and bear.
  2. Paul knew that his confidence came through Christ. Whether you’re an athlete or business entrepreneur: “...thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57, NIV). God can and will help you be an overcomer.
  3. Christ strengthened him. Jesus will strengthen you as well. The word strength that Paul uses in this verse is “endunamow.” God will make you like a dynamo. You will be dynamic in every endeavor that He empowers.

God wants you to have supernatural confidence to accomplish the impossible through Him and by His strength. That way, He will get all the glory, and we will celebrate with Him. We get to be part of the Great Co-Mission. We get to be part of those Mission Impossible-type activities. It’s exciting and scary at the same time.

It’s time that you say yes to impossible missions with Christ.

He will help you and strengthen you because you are a miracle.
