DAY 3 OF 19

Amazing Spirit

And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
Isaiah 11:2 (ESV)

In Chapter 11, Isaiah gives us a glimpse into the future, talking about a new exodus when God will bring His scattered people back to Judah and the Messiah will come to rule the world.

Jesus, the Messiah, was filled with the Holy Spirit throughout His life on earth and we can see the three-fold work of the Spirit which enabled Jesus to do the things that He did. In John 14, it mentioned that the Spirit not only rested on Jesus but will also be given to us. The Spirit who indwells us brings all the wisdom, counsel, power, and knowledge of God into our lives. The Spirit is the very presence of God within us, guiding us and providing conviction over our sin. Our response is to know the Word of God and “be filled with the Spirit.” Trusting the Spirit is key to a believers’ life.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your son. Through Him, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, working for and with us. We pray and ask for an increase of the Holy Spirit’s revelation and power in our lives. Help us to be better people and grow in fear of You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Isaiah

The book of Isaiah, which contains 66 chapters, is called “the Bible in miniature.” The first 39 chapters summarise the Old Testament which addresses the judgement of sins and the hope in God. The other 27 chapters foreshadow the New Testament which addresses the Gospel of Jesus and how God’s people will inherit His kingdom victoriously. If you want to have a Bible overview, this is the to-go book.
