Abiding in Christmas

DAY 26 OF 26

"Abiding in Christmas: Daily Advent Thoughts" by Bryan Craig

DAY TWENTY-SIX

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” (John 3:16-21 ESV)

This is the last day of Advent. Tomorrow we celebrate Jesus’ birthday. I hope you have enjoyed this journey to Jesus. Hopefully these daily thoughts have stimulated your heart and kept your eyes on the prize this Christmas. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to give us eternal life in Heaven once we die. God did not want us to be condemned to Hell for all eternity, but He wanted to save us and restore the abiding relationship with us that He had in the beginning. Sadly, in our Scripture passage John tells us that some will love the darkness rather than the light.

As God’s ambassador, one of His children, one who walks with His Spirit, I feel His love for you right now.  On His behalf, I implore you to receive this free Christmas gift of His Son, Jesus.

APPLICATION: Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Can you simply humble yourself this Christmas and say, “I believe in You, Jesus, that You are Lord. I believe you died on the Cross for my sins.  I believe You rose from the dead to show me that this life is not the end. Jesus, I want to be in paradise with you one day. Please save me.” If you prayed that, your journey to Advent this year may be ending but the biggest adventure of your life is just now starting.
