DAY 3 OF 7

Check out the story - The greatest story

If you want to know more about someone or what they are up to, we can check out their story on socials.

But unlike these short snippets that disappear after 24 hours, God has given us free lifetime access to get to know Him. And one way is through the greatest story ever – the Bible.

The Bible is no ordinary book, it is God’s Word. It is alive and active. When we read the Bible, we get to meet with God, understand Him more, know His words, discover His ways, and experience His character. One of the ways God speaks to us is through the Bible, and His words change our lives.

The Bible isn’t mainly about you and what you could be doing. It’s about God and what He has done. It is the story of His mission to rescue and restore people to Himself – that’s you. It’s the story of His love and goodness.

This story doesn’t end on the last page. God continues to write His love story through your life. Even if your current chapter feels hopeless, God is writing a better ending. He hasn’t finished yet.

If you want to know Jesus, check out His story. Start in the gospels and you’ll discover that every story in the Bible points to Jesus. He is the hero who stepped into our stories and changed them forever.

Try this today…

Choose one of the verses from today and follow this simple Bible study method – SOAP:

  1. S – Scripture – Read the verse a few times
  2. O – Observation – What stands out? What might God be showing you about Himself and about you?
  3. A – Application – How can you live differently in light of this truth? Who else could you tell about this?
  4. P – Pray – Ask God to help you live out these truths. What else might He want to say to you today?

Prayer - God, as I read your story and your words, help me get to know you.
