Whose Am I?

DAY 6 OF 7

Divine Inheritance

Children of God are also heirs with Christ.

The term heirs of God emphasizes our relationship to God the Father. God brought those of us near who were once far away by the blood of Christ. God chooses to make us a part of His family through faith in Jesus Christ. He has showered us with blessings and promised us an eternal inheritance based on the worthiness of Christ Himself. As His children, we have an inheritance in heaven that cannot perish, spoil or fade.

God gives us full family rights and privileges, as His children. We are no longer slaves, we are His children and fellow heirs with Christ. All that is His is ours through Christ when we are adopted into the family of God. We have the freedom and boldness to approach our heavenly Father with our requests. As God’s children, just as we share in Christ’s inheritance, we also share in His suffering. It is part of the same package - inheritance and suffering go together.

How is your life reflecting that you are God’s child?

Thank you, Lord, for making me your child and heir.

About this Plan

Whose Am I?

You and I do not get to choose our human families. Some of us are blessed with great families, while many of us are not. And yet, every one of us can be part of God’s divine family. We have a Heavenly Father, who loves us unconditionally and invites each of us into His family. Explore further through this seven-day plan from Find Rest My Soul by Preethi Alice Jacob.
