God’s Word Is Assuring

May He grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans! (Psalm‬ ‭20:4 ESV)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

For all His rules were before me, and His statutes I did not put away from me. (Psalm‬ ‭18:22‬ ‭ESV)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. (Psalm‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

I love the Book of Psalms, and today's chapters are core to my prayer life. I always proclaim the promises of God’s Word over my children when they are struggling in their decision-making. Though His Word is always true, better than gold and silver, it takes faith to walk in obedience to His precepts and commands (Psalm 19:7-9). What we can do is to understand our inner desires versus God’s will, and prayerfully be able to make wiser choices with convictions. Sometimes God’s wonderful hand quickly fulfills our plans in our obedience. Other times our stubbornness brings us heartaches. But as long as we treasure His Word, a detour will build our faith and confidence more in the Lord, and less in ourselves or other people.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for Your outpouring love that leads us more to be like Christ. Your righteous hand always keeps Your faithful people safe in Your palms for You are a faithful God. Praise be to You! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
