"And you get a free gift! And you get a free gift!" This was usually the way TV host and producer, Oprah Winfrey, would wrap up her special episodes. Oprah wanted to make her studio a special place for any person to feel like a very important person. She made Ellen's typical guest giveaways seem normal for a daytime host. It took one person's wild acts of generosity to create a new norm for others.
When we live willing to give more . . . more of our time, our energy, ourselves, we see more of God's character. If God is generous, and we are made in the image of God, we have the chance to live generously. Think of someone you can give to. You start thinking of who they are, what they'd like, or what they may need. You've noticed this person and recognized something special about them. Generosity can feel like a daunting act of kindness, but when we break it down, we realize it is possible. When we live generously, God takes notice.
What are some ways you can live generously?

About this Plan
“Family” is a concept understood in every country, culture, and language, but we all have unique family structures, traditions, problems, and dysfunctions. It's not always easy to love our families, but the Bible is full of guidance on how to love each other well — we just have to be willing to apply that at home. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll discover how to do that.
