The Purposeful ParentSample
The Why – Dreams, Growth, and Success
Why you do something, matters. You always need to keep your "why" in front of you. When you do this, you will push forward in the moments that you are tempted to quit. You need to pursue your purpose to follow your dreams, grow, and find success.
Following Your Dreams
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
- Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
What would you do if money was no object? What would drive you to wake up if you didn't have to? What were your dreams before you had children? Whatever those dreams are, it's time to pick them up and start pursuing them again. All of your dreams, aspirations, and desires still live on the inside of you. They are always there, wanting to come out.
It is time to think bigger than your ability. You can always do more than you think you can. The mindset of defeat will affect everything you do. If you go into anything thinking you are going to fail, you probably will. If you go into anything thinking about success, you will succeed (even though sometimes it may not look like what you think it should.)
Growth
"Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress."
- 1 Timothy 4:15 ESV
Growth is required to achieve your purpose here on earth. You are not meant to stay the same. You are supposed to be growing from level to level. Push for growth. Test the limits. You will see that growth brings many great things along with it.
Success
"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."
- Proverbs 16:3 ESV
Success isn't just being comfortable, it's achieving your purpose here on earth. Things like prosperity, health, respect, and influence tend to follow you when you do that. It doesn't define you, but sometimes they come as a result. I believe helping others, leadership, and setting an example are significant signs of success.
Always remember your why. Don't give up; keep going, and you will see things change in your life.
