21 Days of Fasting and Prayer Devotional: Send RevivalSample
Day 13: More Than We Can Ask or Imagine
We serve a God who always desires to do more. One of the results of prayer and fasting is an awakened desire within us to experience more of God’s love and power in our own lives and in the lives of people we know, and those in our neighborhoods and cities. This is what we are praying for as a church – for revival to sweep across our land. We are asking to see more!
In Ephesians 3:20, the Apostle Paul writes one of the most compelling and inspiring verses to stir our expectation of what God wants to do through us, “Now all glory to God who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
That is a massive statement. Paul invites us to imagine all that God could accomplish through us. Now multiply that by infinity, and that is the expectation we should live with every single day. It is that kind of faith and expectation that causes us to believe God for big things. We can pray for revival to cover our land because we know that is the heart of God, and He is also able to accomplish infinitely more than we ask or even think.
Notice how Paul says God will accomplish this "through His mighty power at work within us." God’s desire is to do amazing things through all of us! Revival begins with us, with each person desiring and asking for God for more. Then through His power working within us, He uses us to change the world.
Today let’s pray big prayers. Pray that God would accomplish infinitely more than we can ask or imagine in our own lives, in our families, and in our church!
