Jesus Collects the Broken Pieces

When we pray, God can activate our imaginations so that we experience visual pictures in our minds. Here is the image we saw when we heard this plan’s message. It offers some context, perhaps, for what Holy Spirit might have to teach us here:

Jesus is on his hands and knees picking up pieces of wood with uneven, jagged ends and placing them in a pile. He continues to look around, and under other pieces of wood, until he finds each of the pieces He is searching for. And He does this so He can repair these pieces, place them together, make them strong and beautiful and use them as material to build a house. 

We see the jagged, ripped pieces of wood and then the solid, sturdy, beautiful golden pieces of wood perfectly hewn and put together. We are reminded of Jesus being a woodworker, a carpenter. He knows how to build things that are beautiful. He knows how to choose materials and make solid things of usefulness and beauty.

Close your eyes now. Allow Jesus to show you whatever image He wants you to see: He collects the broken pieces of you for the purpose of making you whole.
