Bear One Another’s BurdensSample
Bear One Another’s Burdens
“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 KJV
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for "bear" used in Galatians 6:2 KJV is "bastazō," which means “to take up with the hands, to take up in order to carry or bear, to put upon one's self (something) to be carried.” Choose to carry your brother or sister in Christ. Choose to bear or “take up” one another's burdens.
The Amplified Version expounds upon Galatians 6:2 in the following manner, “Bear (endure, carry) one another's burdens and troublesome moral faults, and in this way fulfill and observe perfectly the law of Christ (the Messiah) and complete what is lacking [in your obedience to it].”
Instead of judging your brother or sister, choose to exemplify the grace of God, and carry one another's burdens and troublesome moral faults. Instead of pointing out the flaws of your brother or sister, choose to strengthen and sharpen each other. Complete what is lacking. Surrender to God and let the love, grace, and mercy of God flow through the work of your hands.
The New Living Translation expounds upon Galatians 6:2 in the following manner, “Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” Love your brother or sister, and choose to display the love of God through your words, deeds, and actions.
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, say this simple prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ.
I believe that He died and rose just for me. Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I repent of my sin and I turn to You.
I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
