Set Free to Live Free: Breaking Through the Seven Lies That Women Tell ThemselvesSample
Day Seven: Living Free From the Lies that Bind
You have now become more aware of the mental ties at work in your life. You’ve found the desire to be free and you’ve begun to transition for change. Now it’s time to replace those old mental ties with a new perspective. It’s time to adopt an enlightened belief system that embraces the freedom to enjoy individuality, spontaneity, and all of your unique attributes.
None of us are immune from life’s difficulties and pressures. Yet through all the fluctuations of life, there remains a group of women who are determined to take comfort in the promises of God. They have learned to embrace spontaneity and individuality. They know the value of transparency in their lives and its ability to help others. They have made a choice to live their lives free from limiting thoughts and mindsets. You have this same choice.
Regardless of how intertwined some mental ties have become in your vision of life, the possibility of freedom remains a viable option. Let the floodgates of God’s promises sweep through the mental debris of your past. God holds the keys to every type of bondage in your life. Freedom is having the courage to want to be made whole in every area of your life. It’s allowing his Spirit to have free reign. He has the power to heal as His Spirit comes into contact with old mental wounds.
He has the ability to liberate you from condemnation when His Spirit confronts past failures. He has the capacity to strengthen you in the face of insecurity. The pivotal points of your life are where fracture lines occur and the chains of limitations begin to break. Allow Him to remove the veil and watch as He changes you into His image.
One of the most liberating aspects of freedom is that it does not require you to be perfect. No longer do you have to attempt to control every aspect of your life, but you can be confident that God is in control. You can rest in the knowledge of His love for you. You can be stable in your places of weakness as He strengthens you daily. You no longer need to seek the pretense of perfection but can bask in the peace of imperfection.
What mental ties are affecting your life? What biblical promises can you use to break free from these mental ties?
