I Have Questions

DAY 8 OF 20

It's scary to go first. Sometimes we shy away from raising our hand first, trying something new, or being the first in our friend group to say what everyone else is probably already thinking. What if no one agrees or joins in? What if we're bad at the thing we want to try? What if our answer is wrong or our idea is bad? There's the risk of embarrassment or failure, and that can feel overwhelming. We get so worried about the possible consequences of the risk that we never take it.

When it comes to asking hard questions about God, it's scary to go first there too. What if that question is off-limits? What if we're the only ones asking that question? What if asking it means we don't have enough faith?

Whether the thing that's scaring us is something small (like speaking out or trying something new) or something big (like saying our questions about God out loud), you should know God isn't far away. God cares for you and is with you. You're not alone. No matter what fears you're facing right now, here is the good news: God will always be nearby.

What does it feel or look like when God is with you? How can we know for sure that God is with us?

About this Plan

I Have Questions

In times of loss, grief, pain, or doubt, it’s normal to have questions. If you’ve ever tried to make sense of your circumstances, wished life didn’t have to hurt so much, or wondered why God won’t fix what you’re going through, you’re not alone. In this 4-week devotional series from the Grow Curriculum, we'll look at four big questions we're sometimes afraid to ask, and what God says about them.
