Key Themes: Key Topical Themes Of The BibleSample

One Another
Our phrase is not in this chapter, but the ways we relate to each other are a major theme. The chapter begins with how people live with each other as husbands and wives. Peter advises women with husbands who have not trusted Jesus to win their husbands over with their behavior, not by preaching at them. Husbands are told to be understanding. Then everyone is commanded to live in unity, sympathy, love, tenderness, and humility.
We all fail at relating to each other in these ways sometimes. How can you do better today? If you have a spouse who has not trusted Jesus, how can you win him or her over with your actions?
