This Changes Your Actions

Have you ever had someone tell you that they cared about you, but then they immediately went and did something that showed they didn’t? Maybe they said they would always be there for you. But when you needed them most, they weren’t there. Maybe they said they loved you. But their actions showed otherwise. Words are important. But we all know that actions speak louder than words. Our actions will eventually verify or falsify what our words have said. It’s one thing to talk the talk; it’s another to walk the walk. 

The Bible talks a lot about actions. In fact, our actions will either verify or falsify our faith. How can that be possible? Well, if we say we love Jesus, but refuse to love others, that’s a problem. If we say we believe the Bible is true, but ignore what it teaches, we are hypocrites. James says that faith without works is DEAD. Proclaiming faith in Jesus Christ is a great thing! But if you’re for real about it, your life will show it. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13 that he learned to put away childish behavior once he put childhood behind him. Our actions will reflect where we are in our relationship with God. 

I love what John says in 1 John 3:18. The greatest action that we can show to verify that we are following Jesus is: love. We shouldn’t just love others through our words. We should love through our actions! 

So, ask yourself: How can I show the love of Jesus to people in my life today? Who can I go out of my way to serve and sacrifice for? How can I not just talk the talk, but walk the walk? Jesus is calling us to more than just saying we love Him. Actions speak louder than words. If Jesus really has changed your life, go love people the way He would!
