Yahweh: God’s NameSample

The name “Yahweh” also signifies that God is eternal and never changing. When we call Him “Yahweh,” we are speaking of His transcendence of time itself and unchanging nature. Though everything around us changes (especially in 2020 throughout the pandemic), our God never does, because it isn’t in His nature. “I am that I am” and “He who was, and is, and is to come” are all contained within the name “Yahweh.” When we sing and call Him by that name, we declare the God whom we can know and walk with personally, and He who is eternal and impervious to change.

Though our emotions shift, and our thoughts can vary drastically, we can rely on God’s unmovable nature and His faithful promises. Though circumstances around us fluctuate and people come and go in our lives, we can stand strong knowing our God will never leave us nor stop protecting and caring for us. His Word and love for us remain the same, and He will last until the end of the ages. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end– the Lord “Yahweh.”
