Where Is Jesus When I’m Brokenhearted?Sample
Jesus Takes Your Burdens
Pause for a moment. Imagine Jesus speaking these words to you: “Let Me show you my Father’s face. He will father you. He will mother you. He will put upon you a robe of honor, of love, of righteousness. For you are an heir with Me. All my Father gives Me, I give to you. You belong here. You belong here. You belong with Me.”
Sit with these words for a while—a few minutes at least. Jesus takes your burdens so that you can reign with Him. His Father is your Father—a Father who parents you perfectly, a father and mother both.
With these words in mind, consider these two translations of Galatians 3:27-29:
Here is the Message translation: “But now you have arrived at your destination: By faith in Christ you are in direct relationship with God. Your baptism in Christ was not just washing you up for a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe—Christ’s life, the fulfillment of God’s original promise.
In Christ’s family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, since you are Christ’s family, then you are Abraham’s famous “descendant,” heirs according to the covenant promises.”
Now read these same verses in the Passion Translation: “It was faith that immersed you into Jesus, the Anointed One, and now you are covered and clothed with his anointing. And we no longer see each other in our former state—Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female—because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us.
And since you’ve been united to Jesus the Messiah, you are now Abraham’s ‘child’ and inherit all the promises of the kingdom realm!”
Reread one of the translations again. Notice what lines and words jump out at you. Why? What is God speaking to your heart in these words?
About this Plan
Like a child running to a parent for a bandaid and a kiss, God longs for us to run to him when our souls hurt and our bodies break. Our sorrows are not too much for him. In fact, he delights in us when we turn towards him. This 6 day plan reminds us of God's presence and faithfulness, in good times and in bad.
