Motherhood

DAY 3 OF 3

The prayer of a praying mother

Billy Sunday tells the story of a visiting pastor.

He visited a house and asked to see the mother, but the son who opened the door said, "You can't see mom now because she prays from 9 to 10." So he waited for 40 minutes to be able to meet the mother, and when the mother came out of her prayer room, a gleam of glory flashed on her face and he came to understand why the house was so shining, why 2 sons of the mother served and why her daughter became a woman missionary. "Hell cannot separate a son or daughter away from a praying mother," Billy Sunday commented.

Susanna Wesley, who had 17 children, spent an hour each day in a closed room alone with God, praying for them – and her two sons brought revival in England as France wallowed in the blood of a terrible revolution.

I remember my mother's prayers.

Those prayers have followed and clung to me throughout my life.

(Abraham Lincoln)

1 John  5:14

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

Reflection:

A mother can be your ministry partner. Even without you asking, she will still pray for you. Will you accept that your mother is your prayer team? Prayers with love always radiate in the heart of a mother for her children and husband. That's why we call her mother!

About this Plan

Motherhood

One of the most important tasks of a mother is to nurture and raise her children. A mother's love, which is always available and shared with children, will make children feel safe and loved by their parents. This reflection will strengthen mothers to fulfill their calling- in order to see that their children grow in love, in knowledge, and in respect for the Lord.
