GOD’S PLAN

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11 is not only my favorite Bible verse about trusting in God’s plan for our lives, but also THE Bible verse that I have modeled my life after next to John 3:16. I have a bracelet that was given to me many years ago as a birthday present that has Jeremiah 29:11 engraved on it. I wear it just about every day. 

There have been many times when I was going through a difficult season in my life when I would look at my bracelet and say the bible verse out loud to myself, and then instantly feel a sense of calm and peace because this verse is such a powerful reminder that we should never give up hope as we trust God and the processes, He has us go through at times. 

The context of Jeremiah 29:11 is about the people of Jerusalem being exiled to Babylon and having to live under enemy rule for seventy years. Jeremiah had to deliver a message from God to his people that after seventy years God would fulfill His promise and bring them back to Jerusalem. This was a tough message for them to hear. They would have to endure suffering and turmoil for seventy years. Can you image that?  

So, Jeremiah said to the people the verse of 29:11 which is that God’s response is not always going to be immediate, but that rather His plan is to prosper His people in the midst of any kind of hardships and that He has a promise for a brighter future. No matter what you are going through right now, receive this bible verse and promise from God today. Let it fill your heart and spirit with hope and have faith in God’s plan for your life.
