Bold Leaders Are: Compelled By Promise

Imagine what the world today would look like without leaders like Nelson Mandella, Martin Luther King Jr., Amelia Earhart, Margaret Thatcher, Malala Yousafzai or Abraham Lincoln. Imagine what the church would look like today without Paul, Phoebe, Priscilla or Peter… One thing that all of these leaders have in common is that they were BOLD. Each one took a stand and boldly stepped into what they were put on earth to accomplish. Bold leaders always leave their mark on history and leave the world better than they found it. 

One BOLD leader in the Bible that sometimes gets overlooked is Caleb. He was the back up to the back up leader for the Israelites, but when you BOLDLY live for God, blessing follows. In Numbers 14 it says God’s blessing was on Caleb’s life because of the way he lived and carried himself. When everyone around Caleb was rebelling, he continued to follow God wholeheartedly - that’s a bold leader! Caleb saw God first hand do miracle after miracle for the Israelites and believed every word that was spoken by Him. When Caleb heard that God had promised a land for him and his people he was absolutely compelled by that promise. It drove him to follow the Lord and live his life according to God’s way. 

If you want the blessing of God in your life, and to be used greatly by Him - you’re going to have to be bold and do things His way.

There are promises all throughout the Bible of what your life will look like if you live your life God’s way - promises of peace, blessing, desires granted, revelations, a good reputation, and more! The boldest thing you can do is constantly live your life in a way that honors God. Throughout this devotional we will look at different aspects of Caleb that made Him a BOLD leader, but it all starts with giving up your ways for His. Trust Him, it’s worth it - He promised it would be! Let that promise compel you, like it did Caleb!

PRAYER

Thank you Lord, for your ways that are higher than mine. Show me how to live like you want me to. Give me courage to be bold, and peace to trust that you will do what you said you will do! Remind me of your promises today. I will follow you in all I do. Amen.
