Scripture

Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning, or knowledge or wisdom. - Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NLT)

This scripture is self-explanatory - if you’re going to do something here on earth with the time that God has given you to do it, you might as well do it well and with excellence. When the time has come for you to leave this earth, there will no longer be an opportunity for you to do these works well. This scripture highlights a very important belief I have concerning creatives and that is — if you’re going to put your mind, energy, hands, gifts or talents to something, do it well. The Bible also tells us to do things as though we are doing it unto God and not unto man. So, as you continue on this journey of creativity let the spirit of excellence be with you in all you do.

Prayer

Lord, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to come together as creatives over the past couple of weeks. I ask that everything I put my hands, mind, skills, gifts and heart to would be done in Your spirit of excellence. Lord, let Your spirit of excellence be upon me as I do Your works. In the name of Jesus, Amen. 

Creative Challenge

This week’s challenge is to have an editorial photoshoot — think Vogue, Essence, Elle or GQ. I want you to push yourself creatively, think outside the box, and challenge yourself with your photography skills and creative limits. Let this shoot be filled with greatness, quality detail and above all excellence. Now go out there and create your week!
