Daily Bible Reading – June 2021, God’s Word of HopeSample
June 24
Introduction
Jeremiah delivers a message from the LORD. He reminds the Jewish exiles that they are living in Babylonia because the LORD brought them there. He says that they should settle there, build houses, and create a life for themselves. The people are warned not to be deceived by those who are speaking lies in God’s name. The LORD promises to bring the people back home after seventy years have passed.
Today’s Scripture Reading
Jeremiah 29:1-23
Today’s Key Verse: Jeremiah 29:11
[The LORD says] “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.”
Reflect
Reread verses 10-14. What promise is made to the Jewish people living in exile? What is important about this message? What made this message “good news” for the people in exile? What is to be the fate of those who are lying to the people in God’s name?
Pray
Gracious God, I don’t always understand the situations in which you place me. Help me to be attentive and present in whatever circumstances are before me, and to do the work you call me to do in every time and place. Amen.
Prayer Concern

Tomorrow’s Reading
