Becoming a Bold Entrepreneur: A 3-Day DevotionalSample
The Book of Numbers paints a vivid picture of what’s really going on when we play it safe. In this account, God has just delivered the Israelites from generations of slavery to the richest, most powerful nation on earth. In fact, God freed these enslaved Israelites without them raising a single weapon.
As they arrived at the land God had promised them, twelve men were sent to spy out the conditions and give a report. All twelve spies reported that the land was rich and fruitful, and all twelve spies reported that the enemy was large and strong.
Ten of the spies, seeing the size of the task, convinced the people that it would be better to return to slavery than to face this uneven match. They just weren’t smart enough, strong enough, talented enough, skilled enough, or equipped enough. The obstacles were huge, and they were small.
Two of the spies, Joshua and Caleb, saw the exact same situation differently. They admitted that the problem was big, but they knew God was bigger still.
The people chickened out and chose not to enter the land of promise. In doing so , they condemned themselves to forty more years of wandering in the wilderness.
Proverbs 28:1 tells us that “the righteous are bold as a lion.”
Everything in me wishes that evidence and confidence came prior to bold action. But they don’t. And they never will.
So that’s why we must pray today, and every day, that God will help us be bold, to see our problems, our goals, and our challenges as big but realize that we have a God with us who is bigger still and who wants us to achieve and receive all that he has promised.
Here is a Prayer Starter for you as you begin to deepen you begin to walk in boldness in your business:
Lord, I admit that I often hold back out of fear by focusing on the size of the problem instead of your greatness. Help me to be bold in you today as I . . .(finish with your own words)
