Out of the Valley: 7 Days to Processing Brokenness and Getting to Hope

DAY 6 OF 8

Our relationship with God is an ongoing journey of open communication, honesty, and vulnerability; and one of the ways that we do those things is in our prayers. Our depth of relationship with God is defined by how much we are willing to bring our prayers to Him. Our desires, our fears, and our hopes. When we commit to bringing Him our prayers, we unlock His power.

In James 4:7, we read that when we yell a loud no to the enemy, he flees. But when we whisper a quiet yes to God, He’s there in no time. Our prayers don’t have to be loud because God is so close, He can hear our whispers. He’s leaning in so close to our hearts that He can hear even our quietest pleas for help.

So, what does prayer look like in your life? How can you start to plan times in your days to pray? And, are your prayers honest and vulnerable?

Here’s where you can start: break down your prayers into a system for 7 minutes a day, 4 days a week with a day to review the things that Jesus is speaking into your heart.

Prayer and worship are the catalysts that catapult us out of brokenness and into the truth and hope of what God can still do with our lives.

You don’t have to be musically gifted to worship our Jesus. Talking to Him is worship. Opening His Word is worship. Starting conversations about Him is worship.

If you’ve grown up in church culture or not, there is this notion surrounding the idea of “worship” that it’s only meant for Sundays or music. But let’s not put worship in a box, because worship is so much more than some hymns and a good Spotify playlist. Worship is an active gaze-changer, a focusing of our sight on God no matter what we are standing in the middle of. Yes, worship is that common ground between the physical and the spiritual, as we give our attention and praise over to God and are given reminders of who He is when we are in a season of brokenness--broken memories, crushed spirit, and blurry vision.

So ladies, ask yourself: where’s your gaze at? What are you focusing on?

Let’s see if we can look a little higher to find hope, now.

About this Plan

Out of the Valley: 7 Days to Processing Brokenness and Getting to Hope

Healing is a journey, not a finish line. We don't just arrive at "all better now." The valleys of our lives can be deep and dark, and we don't want to breeze past that reality. Moving from brokenness to hope isn't a race, it's a marathon: so consider this your starting line. If you're tired of the valley and ready to fight your way out of darkness, let's get started.
