The Huddle: Women in Competition

DAY 2 OF 5

[THE] Huddle: Identity

Ready:

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” -- Romans 12:2 NLT

Set:

The enemy is a punk! He likes to try to highjack our peace, joy, purpose, confidence, clarity, and courage. He is a sneaky low-down scoundrel who works hard to infiltrate our minds to make us question our self-worth. As a result, we may have internal struggles labeled as not being good enough, loneliness, depression, comparison, longing for affirmation, insecurities, and the pressure to perform.

Sometimes we get stuck in the muck of the middle of our mess because of our choices. Our choices have consequences, and we can determine the amount of pressure we face based on our choices. The enemy wants to occupy precious real-estate in your mind, and he wants to snatch your peace and joy. If we allow him false power, he will bury us with bondage, fear, anxiety, stress, doubt, distractions, discouragement, and division.

As you are reading this, you’re probably like, “Yep, uh-huh, I know this stuff,” but what you desire is to know how to overcome it all—right?! Life is tough! Some days are hard, and we feel like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. James 1:2-3 says, “Consider it pure joy when you face trials of many kinds because the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

Some of us have had more opportunities to practice the character-building trait of perseverance. The truth of the matter is - Jesus is the only way to overcome this world’s pressures!

  • Call out to Him: Or as I like to say, “Invite Jesus.” Invite Jesus into your daily walks, talks, and divine assignments. The more we choose Him to be in His proper place, the pressures we face can diminish by His mighty power and provision.
  • Release for Peace: It’s as simple as asking God to rescue, restore and redeem us and mold us into His beautiful creation, a rare jewel, a Daughter of the King. Just like a diamond is formed 100 miles beneath the Earth’s crust, the pressure can create something beautiful that fulfills a significant purpose. You, too, can walk in your royal identity and fulfill a meaningful purpose. As Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform but be transformed.” If you’re willing to “Invite Jesus” into your circumstances and allow your IDENTITY TO BE IN THE TRINITY. Peace replaces the pressure. It’s all about the pivot of our perspectives!

Go:

  • What affects your courage, confidence, and clarity?
  • How can you trust God in the process of not allowing your worth to be based on your performance?
  • What are you going to shift or pivot from as you allow your “Identity to be in the Trinity?”

Workout:

Proverbs 17:27; Song of Solomon 4:7; Romans 8:28

Overtime:

“Heavenly Father, we praise You for giving us the power of the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts so we may stay focused, not finished, and be in alignment with our divine assignments. In the precious Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.”
