Book of 2 John

DAY 3 OF 3

THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:23)

We have often heard about God's presence, and all of us have a desire to experience His presence. Once, David wrote about his yearning for God; even his body also yearned for God's presence. David described his heart (that was so thirsty and longing for God) as a dry land that was thirsty for water. What about our current situation? Are we still thirsty and longing for His presence?

We need to have a thirsty heart and a longing for His presence. Prayer, praise, and worship are some of the ways to enter into God's presence. However, the most important of all is our daily life. The Bible says that without holiness no one pleases God. We can live a holy life before God by being faithful and obedient to His Word.

Lord Jesus said himself that doing God's commandments is a sign of our love for God.  Our obedience to God fills us with His presence. In God's presence, there is new strength, wisdom, love, power, help, and heavenly riches. How thankful we are to God for the invitation to experience His presence every day.

For people of the world, God's commandments or God's words are considered useless and a waste of time. Know that what is foolish for the world will be used by God to humiliate those who are wise according to the world. Therefore, the most important thing in our life as believers is believing and doing God's commandments, because we can experience His mighty presence in His commandments.

Lord, every moment we need Your presence.
