Loss & Grief - SE StudentsSample
You might have a lot of questions about WHY you’re experiencing the pain you’re going through. Unfortunately, you won’t always have those answers on this side of heaven. There will always be questions you don’t know the answers to, but when you don’t know, you have to remind yourself of what you DO know to be true. This doesn’t mean that you ignore the questions you have. In fact, give those questions to God! Ask Him anything! Seek wisdom from His Word and from adults and leaders in your life who love Jesus and have likely been through similar experiences as you. Do not give up when you don’t have answers, and don’t go through it alone. Hold on to what you know to be true.
Who has God been to you in the past? How has He been faithful to you in times before? Can you name one good thing He is doing right now, despite your pain and hurt? You might not be able to see it now, but God’s faithfulness is something that will forever be true. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is with you in your pain and He is still good, even though it might not feel like it right now. His character hasn’t changed, and His love for you has not changed. He is still the same, but in grief and loss, sometimes our vision is blurry and it’s hard to see Him clearly. Take some time today to remember God’s goodness—whether it be from the past or present—and thank Him for who He is even in these difficult times.
