Working in the Waiting
Since we are called the microwave generation; expecting quick fixes and next day deliveries, it’s become harder and harder to practice waiting and being patient in our daily lives, let alone being patient and waiting on God. Abraham waited 25 years. Joseph waited 13 years. Moses waited 40 years.
If you are in a season of waiting, you’re in good company. Rest assured God’s timing is perfect. While you’re waiting, God is renewing your mind, transforming your heart, building your faith, and refining your character. The best things in life truly are worth being patient for.
In your season of waiting, allow God to teach you more about himself so that you too can be humble and gentle to those around you - allowing yourself to grow in patience. Being patient sometimes requires us to be still and hear what only God can speak to us about. In stillness there is peace. Sometimes we can find the answers we’re looking for during moments of peace and stillness. Learning to be patient while waiting on God will shape every other area of our life. Just as Christ shows patience with us, let us show patience with one another. Life with Jesus will require patience.
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, teach us to be patient and gentle with one another, to have a heart like the one Christ has for us. In all our actions may we first choose to act with a gentle spirit, in hopes and promises, may we be patient in trusting that your plans are perfect for us. As we wait, may we recognise that your timing is ever precious and significant. AMEN!

About this Plan
Fruit Bowl is a 9-week deep dive into the Fruit of the Spirit put together by the Naujavan community. Jesus said, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit is the result of spending quality time with God, allowing Him to shape and form us.” We hope this devotional encourages you to do just that.
