Preparing for CourtshipSample
Ahhhhh, friend, you made it! Welcome to day five!
I am so proud of you for taking this journey of what it means to prepare to court for the Kingdom. This devotion means a lot because not only are you preparing your heart for a beautiful journey with the Lord but also preparing yourself for a future covenant agreement.
Courting for the Kingdom is about your heart posture. Are you in a space where you are ready for such a huge commitment? Do you see why it is so important to prepare yourself before meeting your future spouse? We are striving to be in relationships that end in a covenant agreement with the Lord.
If you’re single, take some time to explore who you are, learn what you like and do not like. Life is a journey. Learn who you are outside of a relationship. Learn who you are in Christ. Recommit your faith in Him and pursue Him with your whole heart. Allow the Lord to fill you with the Fruit of the Spirit and the confidence you need in yourself.
If you are in a relationship and your prayer is to seal that relationship with a covenant agreement with the Lord, make sure you two are sure. I highly recommend couples counseling before premarital counseling. In January of this year, my courtship partner and I committed to couples counseling. We desired to strengthen our relationship before we become engaged to each other. Couples counseling was a help to us and I hope the same for you.
I am so honored to have shared my journey with you and, prayerfully, you gained some valuable insights!
In Him,
Thomasena Thomas (Dearly Beloved Ministries)
