Christ's Resurrection: A Truth Worth Accepting!

DAY 5 OF 5

Empowered by His Resurrection

Over the last four days we’ve looked at objections raised by skeptics around Christ’s crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. In not wanting to accept the truth, they’ve come up with some rather far-fetched ideas for why He can’t be who He says He is.

But this I know from personal experience: once we see clearly, there’s no dismissing the truth. If we continue to do so, we’re being intellectually dishonest. We’re choosing to ignore the evidence. We’re choosing to call God a liar.

As philosopher Douglas Groothuis notes, “Of all the world’s religions, Christianity alone purports to be based on the resurrection of its divine founder. No other religion or worldview makes such an audacious and consequential claim.”

The Good News is, for sure, a bold claim. But I hope you can acknowledge that the facts of the resurrection stand on their own. Christians are not trying to "put one over" on anyone. We don't believe because of "blind faith," but because of biblical facts that scholars continue to vet as valid.

After having done life with Jesus for three years — personally evidencing His miracles and His ultimate sacrifice — Jesus' disciples had powerful testimonies of who Jesus was, how He proved Himself to be God, and how much He loves every single person. It still blows my mind that the Creator of the universe wants to be in relationship with us!

Jesus died for you and me. His resurrection changed everything. The truth is that simple and that powerful.
