Jesus I AmSample
John, chapter six is filled with wild stories of Jesus. The chapter starts off with Jesus showing up on the far shore of the Sea of Galilee, where 5,000 men gathered around Jesus and His disciples; 5,000 men. Possibly 15,000 people if every man brought a woman and every woman brought a child. Jesus begins to preach, and the people begin to get hungry. A little boy has some fish and some bread, and Jesus feeds everybody from the lunchbox of the boy. One of the biggest miracles numerically throughout the entire Bible. That night Jesus walks on water. People are super confused. So they go and find Jesus again, seeking clarity, and Jesus says this, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
“I am the Bread of Life. You remember when I fed the 5,000 men yesterday? That just satisfied their physical need. But I am the bread of life. If you believe in me, you will never be (spiritually) hungry again.”
Aren’t you tired of searching for the thing that will quench your hunger and thirst? Stop your searching. Turn to Jesus. He will take care of you. He will sustain you. He is the Bread of Life.
