Practical Tips to Hear God's VoiceSample
Where’s the wisdom?
There is a crisis in America and in many more places in the world, and it’s called the lack of wisdom. When I read the morning paper, I’m shocked by some of the outrageous things people say and do.
There are violent riots, the destruction of public property, talks of defunding the police and prejudice of all types. I do believe a peaceful protest is our right, and even our duty at times, but the craziness that has kidnapped a valid issue is so sad.
Prejudice in our society is also a fact, but there is an intelligent way to bring solutions. Where’s the wisdom?
Years ago, a commercial caught the attention of millions with the catchphrase, “Where’s the beef?” I’d like to create a new catch phrase: “Where’s the wisdom?” The Bible tells us wisdom and knowledge can come from the Spirit of God: “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:7-8, NIV)
The Holy Spirit wants to download wisdom and knowledge into your mind. The greatest “app” of all time is the Holy Spirit. He has tons of features, and He’s never wrong.
The world needs people like you. You have the ability to be wiser and more knowledgeable because you have the Spirit. In fact, James once said, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5, NIV)
So, ask for wisdom for your work, your home, your family, your finances, and your community. We all need wisdom right now. I really need it. With COVID-19, the riots, prejudice, and violence all around us, we all need more wisdom.
So let’s ask: “Help us, Jesus, receive more wisdom and knowledge. Fill us with Your Spirit and help us bring solutions to our broken world. In Your name, amen.”
You will do it because you’re a miracle.
