God’s WordSample
God’s Word is effective
Human words are sometimes empty promises or straight lies. Not so with God’s words. God is utterly trustworthy, and when He promises something, it will come true. Even more, his very words create what He wants.
The clearest example of the effectiveness and power of God's words we find in the creation account. Six days in a row, God declared: “Let there be…” (light, animals, and so on). And every single day, his words are followed by the observation “And it was also” (see Genesis 1). When Jesus lived on earth, His words had the same power, for example, He summoned a dead man to come out of his grave – and he did (John 11).
The fact that God’s word “shall succeed in the thing for which He sent it” gives us a firm hope for the future. He promised a glorious future for whoever believes in him. And because it was God who spoke these promises, we can be sure they’ll come true.
Are you convinced that God’s promises will be fulfilled indeed?
