Run / Rest: A 40 Day Journey Toward Rest

DAY 28 OF 40

Godโ€™s desire is that we run towards a life that is better than ordinary.

๐Ÿ“– ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—”๐——: John 10:10

๐Ÿ‘“ ๐—ข๐—•๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—ฉ๐—˜

When Jesus came on the scene he invited people to a life of rest. He said that following him and obeying him wouldnโ€™t be a burden, a heavy responsibility, or a list of tasks they could never complete. It wouldnโ€™t involve living for someone elseโ€™s approval. Instead, it would mean living out of an understanding that they have Godโ€™s approval. What do you think Jesus meant when he said, โ€œmy purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life?โ€

โœ… ๐—”๐—ฃ๐—ฃ๐—Ÿ๐—ฌ

Does following Jesus ever feel like itโ€™s a list of tasks that you have to check off? If it does, ask yourself why it feels that way. Are you trying to earn Godโ€™s approval? Godโ€™s approval is a gift. We cannot earn it. And trying to wonโ€™t lead to the rich and satisfying life Jesus talked about. Write out a prayer or silently pray asking Jesus to show you what the rich and satisfying life looks like.

About this Plan

Run / Rest: A 40 Day Journey Toward Rest

Stress. Anxiety. Chaos. Hustle. Worry. Busyness. These are words you might be thinking about, talking about, and experiencing pretty regularly. It sometimes feels like weโ€™re stuck running a race to get things done, be the best, do everything, and earn everyoneโ€™s approval. But if you want to keep running, youโ€™ve got to rest. For the next 40 days, what if you made it a habit to rest in Godโ€™s presence?
