Run / Rest: A 40 Day Journey Toward RestSample
Godโs desire is that we run towards a life that is better than ordinary.

When Jesus came on the scene he invited people to a life of rest. He said that following him and obeying him wouldnโt be a burden, a heavy responsibility, or a list of tasks they could never complete. It wouldnโt involve living for someone elseโs approval. Instead, it would mean living out of an understanding that they have Godโs approval. What do you think Jesus meant when he said, โmy purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life?โ

Does following Jesus ever feel like itโs a list of tasks that you have to check off? If it does, ask yourself why it feels that way. Are you trying to earn Godโs approval? Godโs approval is a gift. We cannot earn it. And trying to wonโt lead to the rich and satisfying life Jesus talked about. Write out a prayer or silently pray asking Jesus to show you what the rich and satisfying life looks like.

About this Plan
Stress. Anxiety. Chaos. Hustle. Worry. Busyness. These are words you might be thinking about, talking about, and experiencing pretty regularly. It sometimes feels like weโre stuck running a race to get things done, be the best, do everything, and earn everyoneโs approval. But if you want to keep running, youโve got to rest. For the next 40 days, what if you made it a habit to rest in Godโs presence?
