Sexpections: God, Intimacy and Your Love LifeSample
Day 6
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (Hebrews 8:10)
Jesus loves you! Unconditionally. Always. He loves you just the way He finds you. Period.
He also loves you too much to let you stay in that condition. He wants to change you, to grow you up, to make you more and more like Himself, to become the glorious human being He originally created you to be, including the sexual part of you.
That kind of transformation only happens from the inside out.
You came to this reading plan because the Holy Spirit put His finger on the sexual issues in your life, brought them up into the light, and said, “This right here; it needs to change. Let Me change you here.” You may not have recognized that’s what He was doing, but that’s why you’re here.
That’s a wonderful thing! You don’t want to remain stuck, and you can’t get unstuck all by yourself. The Holy Spirit’s work in your soul goes deep, healing your shame, cleansing your motivations, empowering new behaviors, writing a new chapter in your life, enabling you to experience the kind of intimacy God created you for.
Jesus invites you to invite Him right into the middle of your story.
This is not an arm’s length transaction. No, He’s right in the middle of your business, if you let Him. You may have seen that old picture of Jesus knocking at the door. There’s no doorknob on the outside; you have to let Him in. It’s only then that He can change you from the inside out.
Your role, most of all, is to just keep saying Yes! Each thing He brings up to you, just say Yes! Let Him in. Allow Him to deal with your “stuff”.
As long as you keep saying Yes, He won’t stop until His good work in you is accomplished.
Holy Spirit, I welcome You. I make myself available for You to change me from the inside out according to God’s design for me. I’m holding nothing back. I can’t change myself but I am giving You access to my soul, to deal with all my stuff and to do Your good work in me. I say Yes! Amen.

About this Plan
Culture says, “anything goes.” The church says, “Do this, don’t do that.” But sexuality and intimacy are not first about behaviors; they are primarily about matters of the heart. In this 7-day plan, Dr. Carol Tanksley shows how addressing these deeper matters of the heart will lead you to find freedom from shame, healing from wounds, and true intimacy as God intended.
