Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus

DAY 12 OF 14

Passed from Death to Life in His kingdom

Of those, who were with Jesus at that time, some would not experience physical death till they entered His kingdom.

We are here on earth as people of the kingdom. We demonstrate the kingdom of God and we are ambassadors of His kingdom here on earth, reconciling many who are outside of the kingdom into His kingdom.

Of those standing there with Jesus at that time, some would have the same experience that we have today. What we are continuing to experience is that we have passed from death to life. How did this happen to us?

Jesus suffered death on our behalf. Since He took death upon Himself He is now crowned with glory and honor as the King (Hebrews 2:9). When we place our trust in Him, surrendering and inviting Him into our lives, He makes us His sons. We are now children of the King (Hebrews 2:10).  He has now made us one with Him to partake of His glorious position as the King (Hebrews 2:11)

We were moved from the gallows to His glory. We were under the bondage of death that was inflicted upon us by the Devil who has the power of death. Jesus took flesh and blood, identified Himself completely with us, and took our death upon Himself. Since He had no sin, death could not hold Him and when we place our trust in Him, we are released from the power of death (Hebrews 2:14-15)

This is the experience of passing from death to life in the kingdom of God, which some who were standing there with Jesus would experience.

Thought to ponder

Are we fulfilling our role as ambassadors of the kingdom of God, inviting many into His kingdom? Can we keep the “gallows to glory” message to ourselves?
