Bold Faith - Part 1 - SE Students

DAY 2 OF 5

Bold Faith Moves Beyond Belief.”

Imagine you walk up to a garage sale and look at all the different items—being careful not to touch the clothes because that’s a little disgusting. Under one of the tables, you see a box labeled “video games.” As you open the box, you see two packages that look similar, but upon closer inspection, one of them looks a little fishy. Both show a picture of an Xbox on the package and both have the Xbox logo on the front. But one of them has some strange Chinese symbols and Russian words on the front. That same package also has a sticky note from the previous owner that says, “It’s real, I promise.”

What do you do? You open up both packages and begin to see how authentic the contents are inside. You soon discover that one package is the real deal.  You’ve plugged it in and inspected it closely and it works. In the other package, you find a bunch of pieces of cheap plastic that are made to look authentic. So which one would you choose to take home? Your faith in the one true Xbox is greater than the knock-off because the object proves itself to be real and genuine.

What you put your faith in matters. There seems to be very little in this world that is deserving of your complete trust and confidence. But if you want to have Bold Faith like Joshua, you have to put your faith in the right thing. When you get to know God, you discover that He is as real and genuine as He said. Joshua had Bold Faith because the object of Joshua’s faith was the living God.
