#Goals - Part 2 - SE StudentsSample
Have you ever heard a parent ask you, “If your friend jumped off a bridge, would you go too?” Many of us hear this at some point in time because we often begin to do the things our friends do as we get older. Sometimes this is a good thing and sometimes it can be bad.
You might have heard the saying, “You are who you hang out with.” For this reason, it’s important that we choose our friends wisely. Are you surrounding yourself with people who make you better and wiser? Or are you surrounding yourself with people who pull you down or drag you into things that are foolish?
Proverbs says we should sharpen our friends, and they should sharpen us. You and your friends should mutually make each other better people. Proverbs also says, “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get yourself in trouble.”
Have you ever found yourself in trouble because of the friends you were with? Choose wisely and surround yourself with people who will lift you up and point you toward Jesus. Make it your goal to be the type of person who does the same for your friends.
