Vibrant: A Life of WorshipSample

Vibrant: A Life of Worship

DAY 4 OF 5

Peter becomes extremely practical in his advice to anyone who longs to become a partaker of the divine nature. His coaching moves from visionary to the nitty-gritty of how to live a life of no regrets.

Peter wants us to be partakers of the divine nature! It is such an imperative for him that he has created a list of choices to ponder on a daily basis.

Peter presents the unarguable case that diligence is one of the most valuable character traits that one can choose to embrace. If our goal is to exhibit the divine nature of God Himself, we must partner with Him in the production of all that is good and noble on the inside of our being. When your determination partners with God’s power, the godliness that will shine forth from your life will be simply magnificent!

Faith is the foundation of everything else in life! Without childlike faith, the Bible says, we are unable to please God. Therefore, faith is the most vital component to this exceptional lifestyle for which we were created. Faith changes the impossible to the possible!

Moral excellence can also be translated as virtue. You will never be the person that God has called you to be if you are choosing to live a life of moral compromise. Your vibrant faith will always call you to honor the heart of God in all of your daily decisions. Moral excellence was never meant to restrain you; it was meant to liberate you!

Self-control is a compound word that often makes us cringe. Somehow, our soul has led us to believe that self-control kills the pleasures of life. An astounding realization is that self-control really does not change me intrinsically in the long run. I must partner with the Holy Spirit to live a life of godly, supernatural control. My self-control is only effective to the degree that I allow God to control me!

Godliness is the one attribute that sets a believer in Christ apart from the merely good behavior that the world espouses. We are not being good for the sake of goodness, but we are entwining the character of God Himself in our emotional and spiritual makeup.

Peter realized what you and I often ignore: love fills us rather than drains us. Kindness makes our lives larger not smaller. Love and kindness always enhance the lifestyle of the giver. Always.
