Justice

DAY 1 OF 30

CHRIST IN OUR MIDST

This is one of the most vivid parables Jesus ever spoke, and the lesson is crystal clear that God will judge us in accordance with our reaction to human need. Those who helped did not think they were helping Christ and thus piling up eternal merit. Jesus confronts us with the wonderful truth that all such help given is given to himself and all such help withheld is withheld from himself. The way to delight the heart of God is to help his children, our fellowmen. Who is our neighbor? What are we called for? We are called to bring new hope and opportunity in an atmosphere of unconditional love and compassion so that those who are broken-hearted, exploited, abused and wounded can rebuild damaged lives. We are called to restore the self-respect of those who have been humiliated by what has happened to them.

Dear God,
Help us to think of the needs of others as much as we think of our own. Open our eyes and our hearts and our hands to honor You by welcoming those who are hungry and thirsty, abandoned and lonely, refugees, poor and the sick. - Amen.

”When a poor person dies of hunger, it has not happened because God did not take care of him or her. It has happened because neither you nor I wanted to give that person what he or she needed.” - Mother Teresa

About this Plan

Justice

My inspiration for this 30 days Devotional is from prolonged theological discourses on Justice. My burning desire is to see that the Church becomes catalyst to stop violence against the poor. I am also grateful to Organizations who work relentlessly to secure Justice for the poor.
