Hunger: In Pursuit of AbbaSample

Hunger: In Pursuit of Abba

DAY 3 OF 3

Stay Hungry

"Blessed (happy and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favour and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied!" Matthew 5:6 AMPC

Now that you have decided to make room for Jesus, it shouldn’t stop there. There is so much more in God. The closest scripture that I can think of that best explains this is Revelations 4:10-11:

“The twenty-four elders (the members of the heavenly Sanhedrin) fall prostrate before Him who is sitting on the throne, and they worship Him Who lives forever and ever; and they throw down their crowns before the throne, crying out, "Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honour and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will, they were [brought into being] and were created."

I would like to believe that the elders saw a different side of God every time they bowed to worship God. Every step we take closer in our pursuit and walk with God, the more we realise that we don’t know enough.

Isaiah 55:8 talks about how far His thoughts are from ours and how far His ways are from ours. So there is so much to discover in Christ. The knowledge of God helps you grow in love, compassion and it ultimately sets you free.

How do you stay hungry?

  • Be deliberate about your diet (Study, worship and prayer).

What you consume, you ultimately become. Let spiritual food become an acquired taste for you and ultimately something you cannot live without.

  • Let your God experiences and encounters fuel your hunger.
  • Join a community (Church, small group etc).

Prayer: Abba, may I continue to hunger and thirst for you.

Day 2

About this Plan

Hunger: In Pursuit of Abba

"God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him" - John Piper. Building a vibrant relationship with God means we must come boldly, make room and stay hungry.
