A Conquerors Confession for an Every Day BattleSample
GOD CAN TURN YOUR LITTLE INTO MORE THAN ENOUGH
“God is asking us what we have in our hands so He can multiply it.”-Jentzen Franklin
Is this statement not true about many Christians today? Many times when we are believing for a miracle from Jesus we believe we must apply our wisdom instead of applying the wisdom of faith in God. If we will keep our eyes on Jesus, the situations of life won’t sink us. He will keep us above water.
In Matthew 14 Jesus was going through a tough situation: a death in his family. His cousin, John, had just been beheaded. I believe Jesus wanted to grieve the death of His cousin just as many of us do today when a dear person passes away. But it says that those in need kept following him to the desert. Compassion for others did not let Jesus ignore the need around him.
Here is Jesus in the desert preaching to a crowd. The disciples come to him saying, “Jesus, send these people away because they are starving and we don’t have anything to feed them.”
We often come in and complain to our Lord and ask, “Jesus how am I supposed to provide for my family, my home, my church, and the poor?” In Matthew 14:15 the disciples reply to Jesus, “...this is a remote and barren place”.
Do you feel you are in a remote and barren place, empty, alone, and confused? Jesus is telling you, “Do not doubt my provision".
When you have nothing to give, that is a good place to be. Jesus wants to give you something to give.
The narrative says that Jesus told them to bring the five loaves of bread and the two fish, and His first action was to give thanks.
We need to start giving thanks first, instead of complaining first.
Then it says, “The disciples handed out the food.” The miracle happened in the hands of the disciples. 5,000 people were fed that day, not counting women and children. In the same way, the miracle will come through your hands because you trust and believe in Jesus. Your little will turn into more than enough when you place your situation in the hands of Jesus and give thanks.
Confession for today: Jesus, today I want to go where my feet may fail but my faith in you will become stronger. I yield my life to you as I recognize you are my only source in this world. Amen.
