The Heart Attitudes: Part 3Sample
Heart Attitude #2 – Live an honest, open life before others.
Ephesians 4:25
Since you put away lying, Speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another.
2 John 1:4
I was very glad to find some of your children walking in the truth, in keeping with a command we have received from the Father.
Living an honest life is being free from deceit- writes Bullock in his book on the Seven Heart Attitudes. It is a life that is authentic. The public person and the inner person are the same. It does not mean we are perfect, just that we acknowledge where and when we are not.
Being deceitful and lying are much easier to practice than being honest and telling the truth. I suspect that is true for most of us humans. But after a while, trying to keep up with all the lies and half-truths becomes exhausting. In the end, it is much easier, to tell the truth.
Living an honest life will not prevent you from messing up. Learn to fess up when you mess up. Our lost friends do not expect us to be perfect. They know we are not. They just want us to be real about it.
Focus today on walking in the Truth, even if it is painful for you!
