Release of the Spirit

DAY 4 OF 5

“Release of The Spirit” by Bryan Craig

DAY FOUR

Scripture:

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.” Psalm 51:17

Thought:

It appears that something must happen deep in my Inner Man to go where God wants to take me. He must break my spirit. He must break my heart. This is pleasing to the Lord. He uses pain and suffering to break my flesh, my soul, and even my spirit. He is not cruel. He loves us so much that He wants to go on the journey of life with us.

He must break us like a cowboy breaks a wild stallion, so we will finally let Him take us where He wants to go. Our eternal spirit was forged in us by God and it is made for Heaven. However, when the Holy Spirit overtakes our spirit, He brings heaven to earth and to our earthly lives.

Application:

We are talking about deep things here. These revelations are only discovered in the quiet times and places, alone with our Creator. Examine yourself. Take time to be still and know that He is God. Ask Him to do a full scan of your life, body, soul, and spirit.

Ask Him to show you where he is trying to break you. Consider areas of pain or frustration or confusion. Write down these things in your journal. Look at your life…your marriage, your kids, your job, your church, your community, and ask the Lord why He placed you where you are.

If God had His way with you, how do you think His Spirit would guide your spirit?

Response:

When are you going to start living the life God has for you? What is holding you back?

Write down in your journal everything that encompasses your life:

  • Your Assets
  • Your Net Worth
  • Your Wife’s Name
  • Your Kids’ Names
  • Your Job Position/Company
  • Your skills, talents, titles
  • Your Church

Sign over the deed to your life to God, if you are willing. Write a prayer of sacrifice and surrender to your King.

About this Plan

Release of the Spirit

Have you ever thought about that inner part of man, described as the “soul” or the “spirit”? In “The Release of the Spirit,” Watchman Nee lends insight to the three distinctive parts of man. Over the next five days we will explore the scriptures and contemplate the relationship between the mortal and eternal parts of our being… our “Outermost Man,” “Outer Man” and “Inner Man”.
