DAY 3 OF 3

VICTORY BY THE POWER OF THE LORD’S NAME

I will leave in your midst a meek and humble people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord. Zephaniah 3:12

There are many people whose names are very influential in this world. They could be public figures, artists, political figures, statesmen, athletes, and even criminals. However, all of them have a limit.

Not so with the name of our Lord. His name is the name above all names. It is the sovereign name that saves every person who cries out to Him. It is a name that can set us free from any bondage. It is a name that restores and heals us. Even though it is not visible to our physical eyes, God is present with His power and love when we cry out to Him.

God delivered a message to the people of Israel that He loved His people and wanted to listen to those who cry out to His name. It's the same as a child who calls his parents when he needs his parents' help. Even though this little child may make a mistake, love would make his parents help him.

The Lord in heaven came to help His people when the Israelites were willing to humble themselves, return to the Lord, seek Him with all of their hearts, and cry out to Him in prayers. Zephaniah conveyed this message to the Israelites at that time so that they would immediately wake up and turn to the Lord.

Whom do we depend on in our current situation, especially when we experience a bad situation? Humans are limited, but our Lord is infinite. He can help us. He will let His voice instruct us. Call on His name, the name that is powerful both on earth and in heaven; the name above all names.

God is not far away. He is only as far as a prayer.
