Love God Greatly: Shame BreakerSample

Love God Greatly: Shame Breaker

DAY 20 OF 28

1. We have all sinned, and our sins have hurt us and hurt innocent people in our lives. That’s the ugly truth about sin; it hurts those who are innocent too. Since Psalm 103 was written by David, how do his words help you understand that if he can write that after how he has sinned, that God can forgive your sins too, and break the shame you are struggling with?

2. We all have sinned. We all carry shame one way or another in our lives. How does Romans 3:23-24 equip you to fight against feelings of shame? What is important for you to remember from these verses?

3. There are many things in our lives that can cause us shame. Feeling shame doesn’t mean you have done something wrong. Jesus experienced being shamed as well. How did Jesus combat shame in His life? How can you combat shame in yours?

4. People may try to put shame on you or make you feel bad about yourself or a circumstance that you find yourself in. Instead of giving in to the temptation to embrace the shame, fight back and look for a greater purpose in it. What is one way you can give glory to God through it?

5. The hemorrhaging woman’s shame was not due to anything she had done. It wasn’t because of a sin she committed but a result of living in a fallen world. How do this week's verses give you hope? What do they reveal about Jesus?
