The Golden KeySample
DAY 3 - IN THE CROWD HOW IS YOUR KEY?
At this point in the devotional, we have already recognized that God is our provider and the importance of being grateful. Now, how do I give thanks? Did you know that there are many ways? When we say that we are unique, we even mean this kind of thing simply because each of us has a different relationship with God. The way we communicate with Him, how we worship, how we give thanks, each one has its unique way!
Let's look at this little example: Every key in the world is different, but they all have the same purpose. With your neighbor's key, you cannot open your door, but with yours, you can. That is why it is essential to know our key, or in other words, the way we thank God.
Now let's imagine this situation: A father has a daughter who is about to die because she urgently needs a blood donation. Unfortunately, her blood type is relatively rare. Now let us imagine that a donor miraculously appears, and the father's reaction is to cry. He is showing his attitude of gratitude, only implicitly. Or maybe the father embraces the donor, looks at him tenderly, and says "Thank you." All are ways of expressing appreciation. The same thing happens with God. When you go out into nature, for example, and you admire everything in it, in your heart you are saying to God, "Thank you!"
Prayer is the most common way to thank God. Look at what Philippians 4:6-7 says - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. In this verse we are reminded not only of the importance of prayer in times of trouble but also of the value of giving thanks.
To have a grateful attitude in moments where you have "everything" is very easy, but are you willing to be thankful in the storm? Do you still recognize God in spite of adversity? That's the challenge.
Worship is another form of gratitude. Let's imagine that a song is expressed like this: "God, You are my Savior, the King of creation, everything is for You, Lord." Although verbally the word Thank You does not appear, you are implicitly showing a grateful heart to Dad. It appears verbatim in the scripture: Psalm 35:18 - In the great congregation, I will give thanks to You; among many people, I will praise You.
The Bible tells us about being like Jesus, and Jesus was grateful. He was humble and valued every material and spiritual thing He had. It doesn't matter how you thank God; what counts is that you do it. And your Father in heaven will reward you for every prayer because He is faithful, and kind, and loves you.
Remember to change your complaint to thanks so that you will enjoy a life full of blessings.
