Day Six: Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone. 

“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets and Jesus Christ Himself being the cornerstone.” — Ephesians 2:19-20

You almost certainly have seen a house being built. The construction process is very complicated and the detail with which the contractor and workers must work is amazing! But in order to create the frame of the house and put a roof on and add doors and walls, every builder must first lay the foundation and place the first stone.

Flooring can be replaced, and a roof can be repaired. Even walls can be torn down and rebuilt. But, friends, the foundation is the key. 

The apostle Paul called Jesus the cornerstone in Ephesians because the cornerstone is the foundation upon which all else is built.  

The cornerstone is the only way that our lives can stand straight, tall, and strong. The enemy wants us building on other people or other hopes. But that only leads to disappointment. With Jesus as your cornerstone, you will never be disappointed, and never be ashamed. As we build our thought life and choices upon what Jesus has done for us and the promises He has made, we will not fall or fail. You are built on Him. You will not be condemned! 

Say So: Jesus is my cornerstone. My life is built and founded upon Him. What Jesus has done for me is the cornerstone of every thought and choice I make. I will stand in victory, because I stand on His finished work at the cross. I will stand in authority, because I stand on His work and His Name!
