Living From His Love
Key Verse: Genesis 29:31
Have you ever fully pressed into the love that the Lord has for you? Perhaps you have walked in a season where you felt as though you were alone, maybe even unloved? Sometimes, it is hard to see and grasp our God’s goodness and love that is already within.
I want you to know that, even if we can't see it, it is there because He is there in it. His love is abounding, fully present, eternal. He wants and needs us to keep coming to Him, to remain fully dependent on Him, because He has already made the way.
When the ground below us is unsteady, and the world around us seems to have abandoned us, His love remains. Even when we are crying out to Him, our God sees us. And when we don’t feel or hear Him, His love is embracing us.
Leah was in a place of feeling unworthy of love; her husband Jacob wanted nothing to do with her. He chose Rachel as his true love. She was alone. We can sense the rejection that she is feeling here. God sensed it and knew what she was feeling. Leah only needed to look to God to fill any void she was feeling.
Our flesh wants us to look to everything and everyone else in our lives to feel seen, worthy, loved, accepted, and embraced when really we will only fully feel whole in Him. Our God is a God of compassion, and in this rejection she was feeling from her husband, God was surely going to make her feel and know the love that can only come from Him.
No matter what we are walking through, our God is good, and His love will be revealed in the pain and the waiting. He wastes nothing, and we can rest in His love because His glory will prevail over all circumstances.
The work of Christ on the cross demonstrates His love for us. It shows us who He is. The cross gives us access to live in Him, on earth and in heaven, to live in and from the victory that He claimed for us. The cross selflessly allows us to see Him, to live in His presence. To experience all things with His perspective. The empty tomb—THE VICTORY—shows us how full His capacity is. He makes a way when there is no way.
Are you living in and from His sacrifice where He gets the glory? What does your dependency on Him look like?
