Labels are something that we all have to deal with. Whether its a label that our friends or family place on us, or it's a label that we place on ourselves, we all have labels that we believe about ourselves. Some of these labels can be good, like: funny, caring, or cool. However, there are also negative labels that can be placed on us: unworthy, ugly, not good enough. The world is always trying to tell us exactly who we are, and that can be exhausting and debilitating. Believing these negative labels about ourselves can really tear us down. But there are labels that God gives us. And these labels are the truest things about ourselves. They build us up and remind us of who we are and who God is. 

One of the labels that God gives us is “Loved.” I know that this is something that you hear people say all the time. We hear it over and over again and if we aren't careful, we can become numb to the weight of the reality of this label. But the Bible is very clear about the intensity of God’s love for us! 

When we read 1 John 4:9-10, we can see that God sacrificed his Son, Jesus, for us...that was how much he loves us! Jesus gave up every right and privilege in Heaven to come to Earth and die on a cross for you! The scripture tells us that “this is real love.” This love is the deepest, most pure and whole love that we can ever experience, and no matter what you do or who you are, God will still love you in that way! In fact the Bible even tells us that there is literally nothing at all that could ever separate us from the love of God! 

No matter the label that the world tries to put on you, they don’t have to stick. No matter what you do, or who you are, God has labeled you as “Loved” and there is nothing you can do to remove that label. So today we challenge you, walk with the confidence of someone who is Loved. You don’t have to earn it, you don’t have to be perfect, you just have to believe it.
